Dealing with a full range of waste streams
No matter what your waste output is, Lime will deal with it efficiently and effectively - all the time keeping environmental sustainability and cost control as the main priorities. We deal with a full range of waste types, including:
Food Waste
Our food waste recycling service is the environmental alternative to landfill. All food waste collected by us is delivered directly to an Anaerobic Digestion plant where it's processed into compost and renewable energy which feeds the National Grid.
We offer food waste collections for companies of any size, from large food manufacturers through to small corporate kitchens.
Residual (General) Waste
Residual Waste is the material in your rubbish bins after you've removed all of the recyclables. Where economically viable, we transport this to a facility that converts waste into power which is used to run the plant and feeds the National Grid with the surplus.
We offer a range of waste disposal routes, enabling us to find the most environmentally responsible and cost effective waste management solution.
Wherever commercially viable we offer ZERO landfill to our clients.
Hazardous Waste
Some types of waste are hazardous to human health or to the environment, either immediately or over an extended period of time. If your business produces hazardous waste you have a 'duty of care' and a legal obligation to make sure it's disposed of correctly.
Hazardous waste includes items such as batteries, fluorescent light tubes, needles, broken monitor screens - the list is quite exhaustive. If in doubt about whether any of your waste is hazardous you can contact us for advice.
Paper
"Closed Loop Recycling” is a term you may be familiar with. Closed Loop Recycling is where a waste material is converted back into the same product. The best example of this is paper, which - according to WRAP - will be 60-80% of the total waste produced by a typical office.
We collect, shred and bale your waste paper which will then be sent to a mill for recycling back into office paper, or tissue products such as kitchen towels or toilet rolls, which you can purchase for use on your site. The process is easy, cost effective and great for your environmental performance, as well as encouraging "buy-in" from staff.
Dry Mixed Recycling
We also collect and recycle mixed recyclable materials such as glass and plastic bottles, aluminium cans and cardboard.
