New structure for PHS Compliance

17 May 2011

April 2011 – Workplace safety expert, PHS Compliance, reports that it has undergone a reorganisation to restructure and strengthen its commercial team.  The new structure has been introduced, says PHS Compliance, to better map sales and support staff to customer groups; to enhance the service offered to facilities companies, corporate clients, public sector organisations and SMEs for regulatory compliance in electrical, gas, fire and water.

The new structure at PHS Compliance includes a dedicated team of 17 to look after major, national accounts, including 12 key account managers, supported by administration.  This group is headed by James Costello and works from PHS Compliance’s Warrington head office.  The aim of this team is to give facilities companies and large organisations a single point of contact for services that range from safety testing to remedial repair and regular maintenance.

Out in the field, working directly with clients at their premises, is now a team of 12 surveyors, backed by appointment co-ordinators in Warrington. According to PHS Compliance, these experts will offer first line advice and guidance, plus generate on-site quotations for the appropriate testing and remedial work to achieve legislative compliance.  This group works across the UK, with three regional sales managers; Lynsey Jones, Shane Suter and Alistair Brownlie.

Also at head office, working alongside the key account group, PHS Compliance has defined a team of 10 internal salespeople, reporting to David Norman.   The focus for this team is support a wide audience of SME clients, across all sectors.

Announcing the new structure, sales director of PHS Compliance, Shaun Caddick said; “We recognise that, whilst there are consistent standards set for all UK organisations in terms of regulatory and legislative safety compliance, the needs of different sites, different sectors and different sizes of organisation mean that the way in which we support and serve them needs to be tailored.  We have organised our own sales structure to much better match those diverse customer needs so that we can not only be responsive, but also proactive in the provision of expert advice and specifically targeted services.   Our teams can now focus their expertise and efforts, to ensure that we are the accredited, go-to provider for all safety compliance services – for all organisations.”

Last month PHS Compliance reported the successful renewal of its UKAS Inspection Body accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020: 2004, following detailed reappraisal of its electrical testing division.  In addition to its UKAS accreditation, PHS Compliance has also recently received renewed CHAS accreditation (the Contractor’s Health & Safety Assessment Scheme), SAFE Contractor accreditation in recognition of reaching health and safety standards set by SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) and ISOQAR certification for the company’s health and safety management system to BS OHSAS 18001: 2007, environmental management system to ISO 14001:2004 and also its quality management system to ISO 9001:2008.  As part of the environmental management system, ISO41001 was also achieved in recognition of the high qualifying standard for the UKAS accreditation.
