Tonysguboriau pupil "Gets Creative" to win second prize in Treadsmart Competition
20 July 2011

Proud Year 1 pupil Harri Docherty age 5 from Tonysguboriau Primary School in Talbot Green has won his school second prize in a national competition run by, PHS Treadsmart. Out of the 600 entries received from pupils all over Wales, Harri’s design stood out as a winner featuring a colourful representation of the front of his school along with a message welcoming visitors.
PHS Treadsmart searched the length and breadth of Wales to find creative young pupils to design winning logo mats for their school or nursery. Harri’s winning design has now been transferred onto entrance logo matting for his school which will be placed into the schools’ reception area to welcome all teachers, pupils and visitors, while at the same time helping to keep the school floors clean.
Mrs. Lisa Bailey the Head teacher of Tonysguboriau Primary explained “We’re so proud of Harri for his creative winning design and not only do we have personalised entrance mats for the school as a result, but the pupils also had great fun creating their own designs”.
This competition was a first for PHS Treadsmart and was an opportunity to generate awareness of the benefits of having logo matting in schools and nurseries while at the same time making a fun and creative opportunity for the pupils.
