Emergency Lighting Testing
Without regular testing, electrical maintenance and inspection of your emergency lighting you will not be able to guarantee operation of the lighting units in the event of fire or some other emergency. Obviously the ramifications of the lights failing could be very serious with the possibility of staff being trapped in the building.
Because emergency lights are designed to illuminate exit routes in cases of fire, emergency lighting testing is obviously highly important for all businesses. We offer a full electrical maintenance and inspection service to ensure that the emergency lighting in your workplace operates safely and efficiently.
Emergency lighting units automatically operate for between one and three hours on a battery back-up system. These systems, as with all batteries, must be regularly checked and tested to ensure that, in the unhappy event of an emergency, the lighting will work for the correct duration of time.
After the emergency lighting testing is completed then you will receive full and proper documentation and certification to meet with all your current health and safety requirements regarding emergency lighting.
Why have emergency lights tested?
Emergency lights are designed to illuminate exit routes in the event of mains failure from fire. These light units automatically operate for between 1 and 3 hours on a battery back-up system. Therefore, as with all batteries they must be checked to ensure they will work for the correct duration.
What if I don't have them tested?
If you don't have a regular test done you won't be able to guarantee the emergency lights operation. If the light unit fails to illuminate in the event of a fire it could lead to staff being trapped within your building.
What is invoved in testing the lights?
The test requrired is a simulated mains failure to the light unit for the duration of his hourly rating (1-3 hours).
What do I receive when testing is completed?
As wit all our servcies you will recieve full and proper documentation / certification to meet with all your current health & safety requirements regarding emergency illumination.
