The approved code of practice for Regulation 21 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 states that,

"Washing facilities...must include soap or other suitable means of cleaning".

The Water Supply Regulations 1999 states that all urinals should be fitted with an

“Automatic device for regulating the periods during with the cistern may fill”.

The Hazardous Waste Regulations (England and Wales) 2005, the Hazardous Waste Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005, the Special Waste Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Duty of Care Regulations (Section 34),

“Oblige waste producers to ensure that their waste is managed with care and concern for the environment”.

The 1981 Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, Section 3 (1) states that,

“An employer shall provide, or ensure that there is provided, such equipment and facilities as are adequate and appropriate in the circumstances, for enabling first aid to be rendered to his employees if they are injured or become ill at work.”
