The Environment Agency has introduced a new requirement in the Environmental Permits of the incineration and alternate technology disposal sites in England and Wales. The requirement places responsibility on the disposal sites to ensure that Waste Producers carry out audits of their waste (and therefore their customers' waste) before it can be accepted at the disposal sites.
These audits are known as ‘pre-acceptance audits’. The disposal contractors, who operate the disposal sites accepting waste, require Waste Producers (such as PHS Washrooms) to demonstrate that they have obtained this audit information from their customers before it can be accepted and disposed of.
