Tap into mains-fed
By tapping into, filtering and chilling mains water onsite, a PHS Waterlogic dispenser does away with the need for:
Large non-biodegradable plastic bottles
Constant deliveries and road miles to ensure water supply
An idependent study undertaken by an environmental consultancy, Sustain, proved that a PHS Waterlogic watercooler compared to an average bottled watercooler has up to 72% less carbon footprint*
*CF over 5 years and based on WL2000 compared to an average bottled watercooler delivering 280 litres of water per month.
Eco-friendly dispensers
PHS Waterlogic’s water dispensers are environmentally friendly in many ways:
Chemicals used are environmentally friendly
Sleep mode option reduces energy use
Materials used are recyclable
Greener operations
PHS Waterlogic is fully compliant to the WEEE Directive and has a recycling and disposal centre where:
Dispensers are de-gassed and the gas is reused
All plastics are melted down
PCBs are tested, repaired if necessary and returned to us
We salvage approximately 60% of other parts
UV lamps are recycled
We are fully compliant to the WEEE directive
Cups and consumables
PHS Waterlogic is taking several steps to address the waste generated from cups and other consumable items. We have been long-standing supporters of the ‘Save a- Cup’ collection and recycling scheme and enable all our customers to join in the scheme. Re-usable sports bottles are also popular amongst certain customer groups e.g. schools, factories, where they are used instead of cups
PHS Waterlogic have partnered with Global Ethics who sell and market One branded products in order to generate funds for humanitarian projects in developing countries. Global Ethics donates 100% of it’s profit to it’s charitable division, the One Foundation, which works with communities in Africa, to address the most pressing humanitarian needs, such as clean drinking water.
When customers take our Totalcare® service package on a One branded watercooler, PHS Waterlogic makes a donation to help fund PlayPump® water systems that provides clean, safe drinking water to villages in Africa.
PHS Waterlogic High Performance Filters
Our watercoolers now have Waterlogic manufactured carbon filters. Producing the filters ourselves has led to some fundamental environmental improvements through innovative manufacturing and a reduction in the quantity of plastic wasted.
In the past our CBC or GAC carbon filters were in a sealed plastic housing and when changed, the entire filter and housing would be sent to landfill. The new plastic housing has a screwable top, meaning it can be opened, allowing the carbon filter to be removed while the plastic housing can be cleaned and reused. A new CBC or GAC carbon filter is then placed into the plastic housing and the top is then screwed back on. Only the carbon filter itself is then sent to landfill, dramatically reducing our waste by 81% and in turn reducing our carbon footprint.
