We’ll be joining hundreds of energy, sustainability and resource efficiency professionals at the edie Sustainability Forum in London.
Taking place on 24-25 January at the Business Design Centre in London, the Forum will bring together more than 600 sustainability leaders to discuss how they can deliver transformational change and achieve their sustainability goals..
So how will we be contributing?
As industry leaders, we’re driving innovation and change in our industry, focusing on the sustainability challenges that matter most to our customers. And, as part of our commitment to helping our customers achieve their sustainability objectives, our goal in 2018 is to divert 35,000 tonnes of our customers’ absorbent hygiene waste (AHP) away from landfill.
Almost all customer-facing businesses have to dispose of AHP – that’s nappies, sanitary waste and incontinence waste. Whilst considerable progress has been made in finding sustainable solutions for disposing of other waste streams, AHP has remained notoriously difficult to dispose of in an environmentally responsible way.
We know our customers are genuinely concerned about minimising their impact on the environment, and now we have the solution for the disposal of AHP waste – phs LifeCycle.
What is phs LifeCycle?
LifeCycle is a patented process developed by phs. It takes hygiene waste products (sanitary and incontinence products and nappies ) and converts them to Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). RDF can be used in a variety of ways. It can produce electricity and heat for homes and businesses and is often used alongside traditional sources of fuel, to power industry. phsLifeCycle is the only facility in the UK that can do this cost effectively and on an industrial scale.
Since January 2017, LifeCycle has processed enough hygiene waste to produce almost 6,000 tonnes of RDF. That’s equivalent to the energy required to power 6,000 average-sized, family homes for an entire year.
So, if you’re planning to attend the forum, why not visit us at stand 10, and have a chat with our team of hygiene and sustainability experts. We would be delighted to meet with you and tell you more about our LifeCycle process and how it can benefit your business.
