The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, and the Management of Health and Safety Work Regulations 1999 form the body of legislation governing electrical safety in the workplace. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 also state that “all reasonable and practicable steps to prevent danger from electrical systems” must be undertaken.
We are one of only a few UK firms accredited by UKAS 17020 to inspection body standards in fixed installation and portable appliance test and inspection, and an Approved Contractor of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC).
