Our nine-month internship programme combines training with work experience to help young people with learning disabilities and autism develop their career paths.
During the past few weeks we have welcomed eight local interns from the Caerphilly area to our nine-month 2022/23 internship scheme. We’re so pleased that we managed to welcome the interns just in time to celebrate Inclusion Week, and that we are doubling our commitment in the programme’s second year.
Run in partnership with DFN Project SEARCH - an internationally-recognised transition to work programme, our internship supports young people with learning disabilities into paid full-time employment. We have doubled the number of internship places offered this year after the success of the first internship which saw some of our interns take on full time roles with us.
More departments are joining the programme this year, allowing interns to gain experience across even more areas from HR and finance to marketing and customer services. We hope this provides them with lots of ideas about potential career paths and helps them develop transferable office skills.
